Meeting information on your Mac
Voicewoven records microphone and system audio with macOS permissions. Recording, speech transcription, and speaker identification run locally. Meeting audio, transcripts, participant names, tags, summaries, questions, and tasks are stored on your Mac.
Local speech and language models need to be downloaded before they can run offline. Those downloads connect to the services hosting the models. Editing a transcript does not train the speech model.
Optional external AI providers
You can choose OpenAI or Anthropic for summaries and answers, using an API key or an authenticated Codex or Claude client. When you use an external provider, Voicewoven sends the relevant transcript text, your prompt, and related context to that provider. Audio is not sent by these features.
The selected provider and client have their own data-handling rules. Choosing a local model keeps that inference on your Mac. API keys entered into Voicewoven are stored using macOS Keychain; authentication handled by an installed command-line client remains that client's responsibility.
Optional MCP access
The local MCP integration lets connected tools, including Claude and Codex, read the meeting text allowed by your integration settings. MCP does not expose meeting audio. A connected tool may send the text it reads to its own AI provider. You control whether this integration is enabled and can revoke a client's access.
Retention and removal
You can remove meetings and manage audio storage in the application. In transcript-only mode, temporary audio is deleted only after final transcription succeeds; failed processing keeps it available for recovery. Automatic audio cleanup does not remove transcripts or tasks.
Accepted tasks can remain after their source meeting is removed. Copies you export or share with another application or external provider are outside Voicewoven's local storage controls.
This website and public downloads
Cloudflare serves this website. To check available downloads, your browser requests a public release manifest from GitHub without credentials or a referrer. If that request fails, it uses the validated copy hosted with the website. Downloading an installer or opening a GitHub release connects to GitHub.
These requests disclose your network address and ordinary connection information to the hosting service. Release metadata contains public versions, notes, and installer details; it does not contain your meeting information.
This website's source includes no analytics scripts, advertising pixels, account registration, or tracking cookies. Cloudflare's hosting settings may inject its Web Analytics script; the site's Content Security Policy blocks that external script from running in browsers that enforce the policy. The hosting services may still process connection information under their own policies. Links to other websites take you to services with their own privacy practices.
